@sturmsucht That's an interesting challenge but I would imagine that if there was an app that looked and felt like an Instagram alternative then photographers signing up for the first time would use it just how you described.

There could be special features within the UI, such a giving users the option to curate their profile (your own posts that you've bookmarked) but that would only show for users of this new UI, not all Mastodon users. Does that make sense?

I know PixelFed exists but it's all just text and video and images at the end of the day - so what if the Mastodon interface just looked like Instagram and then you could sign in using your existing Mastodon account... a concept:
