    I am becoming increasingly doubtful of #Telegram's background and direction. #WhatsApp is owned by #Meta and just announced that it will introduce ads. So, it looks like I'm left with #Signal and #Matrix. The former has better UX, but it's centralized and US-based. The latter is a bit clumsy but decentralized and EU-based. Neither is perfect, but they are the closest to it for me.

      @sesivany consider trying Delta Chat, zero doubts about it. Decentralized, EU based, open source, really easy to use, peer to peer encryption etc

        @spla see: https://social.vivaldi.net/@sesivany/114694972644249019
        I'd be happy to switch to it if people around me start using it, but I don't want to be an evangelist of another messenger again.

          @sesivany @spla Same,, I managed to convinced my family to try out @delta but no video calls was a deal breaker. Also, all their friends and schoolmates and colleagues are on WhatsApp so they would only use it to communicate with me. 😕

            @jimmysjolund I already have half of my family using Delta Chat. The thing they like most is it's so easy to use, no phone numbers, two clics and boom, they are in.
            By the way, Delta Chat has video calls in Advanced tab but it's an experimental feature.
            @sesivany @delta
